Taking in the Sights...

It has been so nice being able to get out and explore Hanoi! Today, we started our day at Highlands Coffee for breakfast and afterward, took a taxi to Dong Xuan Market. It is an enclosed market with two floors and it was packed with goods. There was no space to walk in between the aisles, much less bring a stoller through, but we did manage to find a few things to buy :) We didn't stay too long because it was so very crowded. We took another taxi to Vietnam Quilts, but unfortunately it was closed and our taxi driver was way over charging us, so we got out and walked. We walked to Ho Hoan Kiem Lake and tried to see about times for the Water puppet show, but the box office was closed. We will try that again tomorrow. We were lucky to meet a couple of Aussies who were nice enough to take a family photo. Our first one all together as a family. You can see how thrilled Christian is with the picture (he's sleeping)! We hope you are all well and we think of you often. Love, Mary, Mark and Christian

Yep! " Shop till you drop" the saying goes. How exciting to be out and about with your little son.
Market places are always so crowded with people and goods. Hope you get a chance to go to the quilt shop and buy one that will become a treasured heirloom. Love you.
