Finally! Finally! Finally! After five months and 11 days we received our offical referral papers for our son, Christian Mark Van Norquist! Yay! We are thrilled and could not be happier. It has been a long wait (years and years and years) but we finally made it! yippee!!!
Let us tell you a little bit about our son and our plans. His Vietnamese name is Thanh Van Nguyen (pronounced On Van Win --I know, not what you expected given the spelling). He was born on October 24th in Hanoi and he weighs (as of Jan 25th) 10.3 pounds and he is 20 inches long. His pictures were taken on Christmas Day. He is three months and one week old now, so he probably looks a little more grown up than his pictures. :)
He is currently living in an orphanage in Hanoi. We are in the process of completing a few more papers. Our papers will be filed with the U.S. Embassy in Ho Chi Minh City and we will wait for approval of Christian's visa before we will be allowed to travel to receive our amazing little boy. We anticipate that we will be in Vietnam soonest April latest May sometime, but who knows? We wait and we wait and it is all in God's hands so we know that he will take care of everything, so we don't worry about it. Not to say that we aren't hoping and praying we receive approval quick.
We are in love with him already and it hasn't been 24 hours yet. He's replaced Mimi (our boston terrier) as our desktop pic and we are posting his pics pretty much all over the house. Sorry, Mimi!

Christian is just adorable and we can't wait to meet him. Yep, we would be posting his picture up all around the house, too! We pray everything will work out for your trip there and back and the wait won't be too much longer.

We cannot wait until we can hold our adorable nephew and cousin! He is a beautiful boy! Our hearts are already filled with love for him and are looking forward to seeing him soon. We'll keep praying that everything goes smoothly and quickly. Both of you will have a happy, joyous life with your son. We are so glad that God has answered your prayers. Congrats!

Congrats! He is very sweet! He is in VN with out baby Kian (same orphanage. Our little ones name is Long Van Nguyen). We will both have them home soon! Hang tight!
