As many of you know, Mark is a very good musician. He enjoys all types of music and he plays drums, but also sings, and plays piano. He loves music more than I can describe in a few words here. Christian seems to have the same love of music. As you can imagine, this fact thrills Mark to no end.
Mark has a drum kit in his office downstairs and he takes Christian down there occasionally to "practice" his drumming. Let me tell you, Christian has started drumming on anything that doesn't happen to be moving at the time (his high chair tray, my knees, the bathtub, the dogs, the floor, his crib, his carseat, dining room chair seats etc.). He even alternates hands and he drums using his hands, spoons or other objects as drumsticks. And if music is playing...forget it! He's dancing and druming and swaying and trying to sing (all at the same time). It is really impressive to see a not-quite one year old playing this way.
Mark brought home a drum from our church to practice with for some songs a couple of weeks ago. Mark is a part of the Worship team at our church and plays drums a few times a month during the service. As you can see in the pictures, Christian loved it. I figure, Mark can teach him drums and we will start piano lessons at age 3 or 4. Christian can take it from there.
